David Kemp

Fascial Stretch Therapist Level 3, Kinesiologist, and Owner

David’s health and fitness journey started over 10 years ago when his passion evolved from competing in high level hockey to helping people recover from injuries, regain their strength, and take back control of their health. This passion took David back to school where he graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelors of Kinesiology degree. Additionally David has achieved a Level II certification in Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST) which is relatively new and effective treatment technique to address a variety of injury types.

Having dealt with numerous injuries throughout his own career, David is able to relate and understand what is involved in recovering from an injury.

After graduating from the UBC School of Kinesiology in 2019, David launched Proactive Health with the vision of re-shaping the health and rehabilitation industry to be more holistic.  His goal is to not only help clients recover from their injuries, but to strengthen them so the injury does not reoccur.

David has extensive experience with:

  • Pre/post operation rehabilitation.

  • Motor vehicle accident rehabilitation.

  • General strength and fitness training.

  • Addressing chronic mobility and flexibility issues.

In his free time David enjoys playing ice hockey, walking his dog, riding his motorcycle, staying active, and anything car related.

Don Ballescas

Fascial Stretch Therapist Level 1 and Kinesiologist

Don’s journey towards a proactive outlook in health and fitness began over 8 years ago. After suffering multiple injuries while playing high level soccer, he wondered if beyond a way to recover quickly and efficiently from these injuries, there was a course of action he could take to increase the resilience of his body and prevent further injuries from arising. This was the start of his passion to help others also take a more proactive approach towards recovery and injury prevention.

Graduating from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelors of Kinesiology, Don strives to help people recover from injuries, educate his clients in injury prevention, and gain strength in order to move well for life.  Don has also completed Level 1 FST training.
